CAPPAT’s® primary objective is to combine the expertise and high quality work product of a large business valuation firm with the service and pricing of a small consulting firm. Chris heads up CAPPAT’s® valuation services group. Chris works with the members of CAPPAT® to provide insight into valuing technology/patents. Chris also has experience in business consulting for private industry, the U.S. government, government contractors, technology companies and nuclear energy-related companies. Through his work, Chris has also developed project management and organization skills. His specific expertise is as follows:
Technology & Patent Valuation:
Chris values technology and technology related patents using various techniques, such as the income, market or cost methodologies. Recently, Chris has valued the following types of technologies and patents: water filtration technologies, content replication and sharing technology, educational software, employee benefits software, Coude catheters and outdoor recreation equipment.
U.S. Government Contracting, Program Management & Valuation:
Chris is involved with the full range of program management responsibilities associated with government contract work related to technology, patents and valuation. This work includes responding to solicitations, compliance, and reporting as well as ensuring that all Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) standards are met and maintained by CAPPAT® and any subcontractors engaged by CAPPAT. Chris has also been engaged to value settlements for terminated contractors. Chris has also represented both the government and contractors on bid protests, in which he performs extensive document review and financial analysis to verify that a government contract was bid on and awarded fairly.
Nuclear Energy Valuation:
Chris has valued many aspects of nuclear utility operations including spent nuclear fuel storage, nuclear plant operation & maintenance costs, and utility decommissioning costs. His nuclear work involves extensive reviews of accounting records, company policies and procedures, and market research.
