Ron Sulpizio - Of Counsel
For almost 10 years Mr. Sulpizio has focused his intellectual property practice on obtaining patent protection for individuals and companies before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign patent offices.
Mr. Sulpizio began his legal career as an Examiner in the USPTO in 1999. While at the USPTO, Mr. Sulpizio specialized in examining patent applications related to cryptography, certification authority, authentication, access control, and copyright protection systems.
Beginning in 2001, Mr. Sulpizio entered private practice focusing on writing patent applications and responding to formal USPTO Office actions (referred to as patent prosecution). Mr. Sulpizio also provides systems engineering services to the U.S. Government as a contractor.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Sulpizio was a commissioned officer in the United States Army Signal Corps (Army) where he gained extensive experience in telecommunications, software, and cryptography. After the Army, Mr. Sulpizio worked for IBM in Washington, DC where he was responsible for IBM cryptographic product export compliance for IBM's Server, Network Computing, Technology, and Internet Divisions. He left IBM to join the USPTO.
Mr. Sulpizio became of counsel to CP&T in 2008.
Mr. Sulpizio has written applications or prosecuted patent applications in the following areas:
